“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” ― Oscar Wilde...Simple right? Not always... within everyone's lives there are parts that you have to keep secret. But what happens when you let them out? You get trampled, stepped on and hurt. But the hurt doesn't last, because you then realize that those who trampled on you and decided you weren't worth their time, are the ones who are the most lost and most unhappy.
So being yourself isn't always about happiness, sometimes, it's about just being...being what God made you and realizing that your self worth isn't based upon what people think of you, but rather who you actually are. No longer should a person just rollover, rather they should stand up for their rights!
So to the friend I spoke to earlier...I can't be anyone else, I am me...that girl you want, well she's someone else...and to find that person, you have to look for them!
Thus I have searched among them for someone who would build a wall or stand in the breach before me to keep me from destroying the land; but I found no one. Ezekiel 22:30

Spiritual Message of Titanic
There is a very spiritual message in the movie Titanic. I hadn't seen it before when I watched the movie, but today when I went to see the movie, I realized there was a spiritual theme running in the story.
Let's look at the "story". First there is Rose, the "runner." She's not happy, she's dissatisfied with her life, on the verge of suicide. 2nd is Cal Hockley, the "adversary." Considered Rose's fiance, rich steel tycoon family and finally we have Jack, the "pursuant." He pursues Rose no matter what comes his way, lies, deceit, etc.
When Jack meets Rose, he falls in love with her. He believes in her, she can do anything that she puts her mind too. Rose, reaches around her body, to take Jack's hand then by accident nearly slides off the back of the boat. Jack tell her "I got you! I'll never let go!"
Just like Jesus feels about us, He pursues us, and he knows that we can do anything as long as we put our trust in Him. We jump, he jumps! Jesus tells us "I got you, I'll never let go!"
When Rose's fiancee Cal comes into play she gets scared, she doesn't love him, and yet he pursues her also. He does everything he can to stop her from finding true love; true happiness. Rose doesn't love him, yet he does everything that he can stop Rose; to bring her to ruin for his own selfish gain. In the end we find out that when the Markets crashed in 1929 he commits suicide.
At the end of the movie we see the elderly Rose sleeping in her bed--only I don't think she's sleeping, rather I think she's crossing over. As we move to a scene of Titanic with Jack in steerage clothing, everyone is there; they watch as Rose goes and meets Jack and in the end she gets what she had waited for her whole life--her reward.
Well Christian, that is the message. All we have to do is hold out our hands, and Jesus is there to take it. Put faith in ourselves and we are no better than the people who put their trust in the steel that made up Titanic. No one ever said it wasn't an unsinkable ship, but they never admitted (until it was too late) that it could sink.
So if you take time to watch Titanic...see what spiritual message it may have for you!

A bond of three strands isn't easily broken...
"America and Israel share a special bond. Our relationship is unique
among all nations. Like America, Israel is a strong democracy, a symbol of
freedom, and an oasis of liberty, a home to the oppressed and persecuted."
The above quote is from President Bill Clinton. It is only because of our bonds with Israel that America has been blessed. Now this isn't to say that America wasn't blessed prior, but I think that God has allowed our nation to continue in its chosen path because it's the very same path that has been taken by Israel.
The United States is a nation of unruliness and God, like a kind and loving father has allowed us to continue to stray. He loves us unconditionally and when we stray, He waits paitently for us to return! But America, I must ask...are you listening? Are you heeding the voice of God? I dare say that many in our nation aren't listening at all! Rather they are allowing themselves to continue in blatant defiance instead of turning to the very one who can save us!
Wake up America and listen to the warnings of this time, return to our roots of faith and to our God so that our nation will be blessed once again!

Rabbi Sha'ul: Misunderstood Apostle
This semester at seminary, I am studying "Paul" or as Messianic Jews call him Rabbi Sha'ul. There is a lot about Sha'ul that we don't understand. My thesis reads as follows...(please give me some feed back!)
There are many misunderstandings surrounding the Apostle Paul. These misunderstandings have came down through history, has changed the way people view Christianity and the lessons within the New Testament.
In this series of lessons we'll discuss several teachings about Paul.
- Lesson 1 will focus on Paul as a Pharisee. This lesson will discuss Paul's life, from early training to his persecution of the early foundling church.
- Lesson 2 will further our understanding of Paul, by looking at his conversion and his early missionary journeys.
- Lesson 3 will focus on Paul's teachings concerning life within the family of God.
- Lesson 4 will discuss Paul's teaching on the Law and how it effects both Jewish and Gentile believers!
- Lesson 5 will look at how the Christian church has mishandled the teachings of Paul and finally how Paul has become one of Christianity's misunderstood characters.
This is just an outline of my lessons and thesis. I do believe that Paul is one of our most misunderstood characters...both for Gentile Christians and Jewish believers!

Decisions
One of the hardest things about writing a blog is deciding what to write about. You often have to worry about who is reading your blog, and how they may feel. Okay, so the average writer doesn't worry about such things, but being sensitive to ideals and having friends of all cultures reading, means I don't freely state my opinions on controversial topics.
One such topic I wanted to write about was Passover and Easter. However, due to the unpreparedness of myself and the place where I am currently in my journey of faith, I don't think it would be appropriate for me to speak against what I believe in or what I am confused about currently.
I do have in mind a topic that I'd like to write about. Which is: Why did Rachel start seeking a life outside of the Christian faith, to embrace a religion that while she does have roots in it, she has no claim to it? Writing this entry will take some time, since I really don't know my audience--which for the most part is a good thing. It will reveal in it though, God's grace and mercy...it will also reveal a bit about Rachel that no one really knows except my best friend and brother in faith.
So I look forward to writing my entries soon and hope that you will continue read this blog...
